Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer

Meet Emma

Throughout my career as a clinical dietitian, I have developed a strong passion for preventative care. Good nutrition and fitness can be incredible tools for lowering the risk of developing chronic diseases and encouraging overall better health.

I believe food is a good gift from God as long as we are not consumed by it. Our motivation in nutrition isn’t our own comfort or self-righteousness, but that God would be magnified. (1 Corinthians 10:31). We are stewards of priceless gifts. “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body” (1 Corinthians 6:19–20). This is a belief I guide my practice on.

If you are lost on where to start making healthier choices, stuck in a yo-yo dieting cycle, or suffering from digestive discomfort only to be given an IBS diagnosis with no guidance - I am here to help guide you in making practical changes to reach your goals.

  • Yes we accept:
    Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare.

Pricing varies based on your insurance plan and policy. Please call your insurance company to see what nutrition services are covered. Get your estimated price here.

If you are covered by another insurance company that we do not accept, we can provide documentation called a superbill that you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

If you’d like to request a superbill, you must provide a physician referral with your nutrition-related medical diagnosis.

After we receive the referral from your physician, we can send you the superbill for you to submit to your insurance company. Learn more here.

  • Availability varies by week. To view available appointment slots check out the schedule here.

  • Virtual appointments are available through Healthie, a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Of note, if you've arranged for insurance reimbursement, keep in mind that some carriers may reimburse differently for virtual sessions versus in-person sessions.

  • RD or RDN marks someone as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recently approved the use of the RDN credential in order to capitalize on the recognizability of the word "nutritionist." RD and RDN are the same and can be used interchangeably.

The LD or LDN is for Licensed Dietitian (Nutritionist), which means the practitioner is legally licensed to practice in their state or has met qualifications to be licensed in another state.

A Registered Dietitian (RD) is a nutrition expert who, at a minimum: holds a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in nutrition science, completed a dietetic internship of 1200 supervised practice hours, and passed a national certification exam. RDs also must complete at least 75 Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits every five years to maintain their credentials. By 2024, a master’s degree is required for a dietetic intern to sit for the exam.

A "nutritionist," on the other hand, is less clearly defined. Anyone can call themselves a nutritionist!

Finally, CPT stands for certified personal trainer. To become a CPT you must have your high school diploma or GED, get CPR certification, and earn certification from an accredited organization. A college degree is not required.
